Strike Vs Purplebricks – Who Wins?
You’ve probably seen the adverts for both online estate agents. Purplebricks claim to be the biggest but Strike are the ones promising to sell your property for free.
Which one appeals to you the most probably depends on your personal circumstances.
However, Purplebricks charge you for a similar level of service that Strike give away for free and that should really help to make the decision for you.
The downside with Strike is that you won’t get an in-person valuation unless you’re in one of the main areas they offer it in (mostly northern areas).
That’s a pretty minor downside in our opinion and shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most. The only other thing you need to know about Strike is that they make their money from referrals and upsells. However, Purplebricks (and most other estate agents) do this too, so again, it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker.
Our Recommendation:
Just because Purplebricks are the biggest, and arguably the best-known online estate agent, it doesn’t mean they are the best. They certainly aren’t the cheapest.
Sure, if you prefer sticking to a more established brand Purplebricks is an OK option, but watch out for those conveyancing fee add-ons!
If you prefer the security of knowing you won’t pay a penny unless you choose to do so (via the upgrade options), Strike is by far the better option.
