Lifetime ISAs, or LISAs, are a great way to save for your first home. It’s a savings account which allows you to save up to £4,000 per year, tax-free, with a 25% deposit added on top by the government, up to £1,000 per year!

There are certain restrictions on LISAs, so it’s important to research whether this is the right account for you. The main points to know:

  1. You can only use the LISA if you’re buying your first home. You can alternatively access the funds when you are 60 years old.
  2. The house you’re buying must be less than £450,000.
  3. You can’t use the funds within the first 12 months after opening the account.
