Lifetime ISAs, or LISAs, are a great way to save for your first home. It’s a savings account which allows you to save up to £4,000 per year, tax-free, with a 25% deposit added on top by the government, up to £1,000 per year!
There are certain restrictions on LISAs, so it’s important to research whether this is the right account for you. The main points to know:
- You can only use the LISA if you’re buying your first home. You can alternatively access the funds when you are 60 years old.
- The house you’re buying must be less than £450,000.
- You can’t use the funds within the first 12 months after opening the account.
